The Female Teacher Who Fights Back Chapter 32

Chapter 32: Unscrupulous Teacher 3

Because Luo Ditian had a class during the second period, Wu Lang's ears could finally enjoy some peace. Looking around, everyone else was writing furiously, while she was the only one lingering idly.

Recalling Li Hao's introduction regarding the duties and nature of a PE teacher's work, Wu Lang carried that stack of so-called "lesson plans" to her designated changing room. Although it was simple and sparse—with only a wardrobe and two chairs—it suited her far better than the tense atmosphere and brisk pace of the main faculty office.

Since the changing room was on the shaded side of the gymnasium and the window was tightly shielded by lush, dense tree branches, it looked rather dim and was slightly cooler than the other rooms. Taking a nap here during the summer would likely be quite pleasant...

After a quick sweep and tidy-up, Wu Lang pushed open the window to air out the small room, then sat by the sill, slowly closing her eyes to enjoy this brief moment of tranquility.

Perhaps the heavens couldn't stand her being so leisurely, because before long, the sharp, shrill voice characteristic of a girl echoed from below: "Qing Mo, don't think you can ignore this young miss just because you have the Prince's protection! Let me tell you, I can completely wipe your name out of Linhai City with a mere flick of my pinky finger!"

"I... I didn't—"

"Didn't what? You do nothing but play the victim all day long, putting on a pitiful act just so the Prince will pamper you and cater to your every whim!"

"Exactly, that's right!"

Wu Lang instinctively glanced downward. Surprisingly, the girls were all "familiar faces" she had seen in class that morning. Leading them was none other than Fu Wanzi, the daughter of Linhai City's top merchant, while the target under siege was the introverted and clumsy-tongued Qing Mo.

"Wh-What do you want from me, calling me all the way out here?" Clasping her hands tightly against her chest, Qing Mo sensed trouble and barely managed to squeeze out a complete sentence. Although she had suffered similar ordeals in the past, her habit of easily trusting others had led her to be tricked into coming here once again by their lies.

"Nothing much, just wanted to warn you not to be so arrogant in daily life. The Prince gave us the cold shoulder today all because of you—tell us, how do you plan to compensate our wounded hearts?"

"I..."

"You what, you?" One of the girls clicked her tongue impatiently, her head held high in disdain. "Looks like you won't know what we're capable of unless we teach you a lesson!" With that, she raised her hand to slap Qing Mo. But before her raised hand could descend, the shadow above the group suddenly deepened. A certain woman stepped onto the window frame, vaulted onto a sturdy branch, completed a mid-air flip and a half, and landed on the soft grass as lightly as a feather.

"Hey, what are you all doing here?" Dusting off her shoulders where no dirt existed, Wu Lang maintained her nonchalant tone. Her gaze landed on Qing Mo: red rims around her eyes, trembling shoulders, and a lower lip bitten so hard it had turned purple... a textbook frightened white rabbit.

Over on the other side, Fu Wanzi was the first to recover her senses, immediately putting on the airs of a wealthy heiress as she retorted: "Teacher, shouldn't that be our line? Instead of going back and teaching your class properly, you dare meddle in our business? Are you trying to lose your job?"

Hearing this, Wu Lang gave an indifferent shrug. "Student Fu Wanzi, whether I want this job or not is my business and has nothing to do with you. Of course, if you'd like to pay me a second salary, I wouldn't mind that either."
