The Female Teacher Who Fights Back Chapter 39

Chapter 39: A Special Lesson 6

"Director, if there's nothing else, please step aside. I still need to go back to the office, pack my things, and roll up my bedding to leave!" Wu Lang’s words carried a hidden edge, making her seem entirely innocent while backing Liu Xing into a corner with no easy way out.

Director Liu, who had taught at Sheng Tian for over a decade, probably never dreamed she would face such a humiliating day. Yet no matter how bitter she felt, the immediate dilemma still had to be resolved. For the sake of her well-paying job, she silently chanted the Great Compassion Dharani in her heart while calling out loudly: "Teacher Wu, what I said earlier was just out of temper, so please don't take it to heart! Sophomore Class 3 and indeed the entire Sheng Tian Academy need you very much!"

In truth, Liu Xing was an atheist, but without this mental restraint, there was no telling if she might drop dead of a sudden heart attack...

Ignoring the utterly stunned expressions of everyone present, Wu Lang pondered for a moment before giving a modest nod. "Since Director Liu puts it that way, I suppose I can reluctantly stay."

Snap—

That was the sound of veins bursting on Director Liu's temple...

Right at that moment, the bell marking the end of class rang, drawing a formal close to Wu Lang's very first lesson as a teacher. Having witnessed the lesson learned by Sophomore Class 3, students from the other classes quickly changed into their sports uniforms and running shoes ahead of time, gathering at the gymnasium to catch a glimpse of this unscrupulous teacher's demeanor!

Meanwhile, the mastermind behind Director Liu and the others' nightmare—Principal Shao Xuanbang, who had scouted and introduced Wu Lang to Sheng Tian—was sitting cross-legged in the grand hall of the Hua family residence, playing Chinese chess with Hua Quqin's grandfather, Hua Gengtian.

"Xuanbang, are you certain you want to keep that girl named 'Wu Lang' at Sheng Tian as a teacher?" Hua Gengtian pushed his pawn across the river boundary, then picked up a file next to the chessboard, curling his lip in clear disapproval.

Although those two sheets of paper contained only a few brief lines, the words "Liuyun Street" were particularly glaring. Moreover, the fact that neither of their families could uncover Wu Lang's full background proved one of two things: first, that Wu Lang was truly as clean and blank as a sheet of white paper; second, that an even more formidable faction was at work behind her.

Because Wu Lang had always lived on the periphery of Liuyun Street, Hua Gengtian leaned toward the latter, an undercurrent of worry showing between his brows. One had to remember that students attending Sheng Tian Academy were almost exclusively wealthy or influential; if anything were to happen to those young masters and misses, his old friend wouldn't even find a shoulder to cry on.

"Rest assured, I trust the child Wu Lang. Besides, that bunch of wealthy brats spoiled rotten by their families since childhood is in desperate need of someone like her to keep them in line."

"Is she really that formidable?" Hua Gengtian had never met Wu Lang in person, so he naturally maintained his reservations.

While deliberating his next move, Shao Xuanbang replied casually, "More than formidable—she is exceptionally so. Rewind forty years, and even the young you wouldn't necessarily have been her match."

"Oh, is that so?" The corners of Hua Gengtian's eyes dipped slightly, his flat tone tinged with a faint chill.

Unfortunately, absorbed in the chess game, Shao Xuanbang failed to realize his loose tongue had just caused offense, adding an earnest two-word confirmation: "Of course."

Hearing this, once his old friend finished moving, Hua Gengtian pushed that inconspicuous little pawn forward a step and smiled faintly: "Check."
