The Female Teacher Who Fights Back - Chapter 15
Chapter 15: Entering the Campus 4
Sheng Tian Academy was extraordinarily large; arriving for the first time, Wu Lang was completely unable to find the specific location of the sports equipment room from the architectural distribution map she had viewed earlier. Happening upon a male and female student walking toward her, Wu Lang asked, “Excuse me, how do I get to the sports equipment room?”
The boy, dressed in a blue-black school uniform, exuded a faint aura of indifference. The sunlight cast a shallow halo on his blue-black hair, and his fragmented bangs brushed down, obscuring his brows. Beneath a high-bridged nose were thin lips carrying a hint of pride. Most eye-catching of all was the obsidian stud in his left ear that flashed with a dazzling light.
Compared to the expressionless boy, the girl was much more ordinary. With twin ponytails and a light pink uniform skirt, she could not be called a beauty, yet she was very cute.
The boy shot a cold glance at Wu Lang without any intention of stopping. The girl first looked timidly at him, then lowered her head while rubbing her fingers, answering softly: “If you go straight down this road, you will see a circular indoor gymnasium; the sports equipment room is on the second floor of that gym”.
“Thank you.”
“Y-you’re welcome!” The girl shook her head repeatedly, offered a polite bow, and then hurried to catch up with the boy walking ahead.
Wu Lang, who never liked meddling in others’ business, didn’t give it another thought. Following the girl’s directions, she successfully found the gym, which was built on an extremely exaggerated scale. It seemed someone had already received notice from Director Liu, as they were waiting at the entrance.
Seeing Wu Lang enter his field of vision, a young man in a milk-white tracksuit approached with a bright smile and extended his hand: “You must be the new teaching assistant, Wu Lang—Teacher Wu, right? I’m Li Hao, in charge of the physical education curriculum for the freshmen and sophomores”.
“Hello.” Wu Lang nodded slightly as a greeting. Li Hao watched his hand freeze in mid-air, momentarily stunned. Wu Lang, unperturbed, continued: “Director Liu instructed me to come collect the recent course schedule and, while I’m at it, listen to a senior’s valuable advice”.
“While you’re at it…” Li Hao withdrew his hand despondently; ranked seventh on the Sheng Tian Beauty Ranking, a sudden sense of inexplicable frustration welled up in his heart. However, with the title of “senior” weighing on his shoulders, he had to pull himself together and dutifully began the introductions.
According to the requirements of the Education Commission, physical education was a mandatory course for freshmen and sophomores. Beyond the junior year, unless one was a sports specialist, students generally had no further connection with the subject.
Although Sheng Tian Academy’s outdoor stadium was fully equipped with various facilities, for the safety of the young lords and ladies, P.E. classes were moved entirely indoors and occurred only once a week. Consequently, the vast academy had only a handful of P.E. teachers.
“On the first floor of the indoor stadium, the left side is for basketball and volleyball, and the right side is for badminton, tennis, and table tennis; the second floor is the equipment room and gym; the third floor is the practice hall for the Kendo Club; and the fourth floor is the swimming pool,” Li Hao explained the gym’s specific layout for Wu Lang’s future teaching.
“The entire third floor belongs to the Kendo Club?”
Wu Lang’s question seemed to be within Li Hao’s expectations. He shook his head with a sigh and said familiarly: “Xiao Wu, you don’t know this, but although Sheng Tian Academy is a famous elite school, it is pitifully weak in sports. Only the Kendo Club won the team championship at the National Intercollegiate Championships, and their captain even seized the victory in the women’s individual competition in one fell swoop”.
