The Female Teacher Who Fights Back - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Entering the Campus 5
“A woman?” For some reason, the white figure Wu Lang encountered the previous night flashed through her mind.
“The student who won the championship is named Ou Wenji. She is not only the captain of the Kendo Club but also the current vice president of the Sheng Tian Student Union. Because of this, the school made an exception and allocated an entire floor of the gymnasium to the Kendo Club as their activity space,” Li Hao explained as the two reached the second floor of the gym. Pointing to a small room next to the equipment room, he added, “That will be your changing room from now on. We PE teachers aren’t as rigid as the others who have to stay in the office after class. You just need to report there in the morning, and you can spend the rest of your time here, free and easy”.
“What about lunch?” Compared to where she worked, Wu Lang cared far more about her meals.
“With the faculty ID issued by Sheng Tian Academy, you can eat for free at the two nearby cafeterias. Oh, Director Liu asked me to tell you to bring your ID card and two one-inch photos tomorrow to process the relevant documents,” Li Hao said, slapping his forehead as he belatedly remembered the important instruction from his superior.
“Oh”.
“This is the key to the changing room. If you need anything, just let me know; don’t be a stranger,” Li Hao said, removing a key from a large ring and handing it to her.
“Oh,” Wu Lang replied, accepting the key with her usual concise monosyllable.
Feeling as though his enthusiasm was hitting a wall of cotton, Li Hao went next door to grab a stack of items and handed them all to Wu Lang. He explained them one by one: “I’ve marked the classes Teacher Chen was responsible for in red ink on the schedule. This semester’s lesson plans were written by Teacher Chen long ago, so just follow them. Remember to arrive at the class location five minutes early to check the student assembly”.
“Oh”. Wu Lang flipped through a few pages and found that although there was a lot of writing, the actual content was pitifully sparse. She didn’t understand why sit-ups—which she could easily do dozens of in a minute—required two weeks of scheduled assessment.
“My mobile number is in the top right corner of the schedule. If you run into anything you don’t understand, you can call me for help,” Li Hao said, specifically pointing it out for fear she might miss it.
“Oh”.
Even the good-natured Li Hao couldn’t help but feel his temper rise after several dismissive syllables from her. “Xiao Wu, since we’re about to become colleagues, could you be a bit more friendly?”
“What is ‘friendly’?” Wu Lang wasn’t intentionally looking for trouble; she truly did not understand the meaning behind his words.
“At the very least, you should enter my number into your phone and call me back so we don’t lose contact at a critical moment”.
To this, Wu Lang replied very sincerely, “I’m sorry, I don’t have a mobile phone”.
“Huh?” This time, Li Hao was completely dumbfounded. Even elementary school students had mobile phones these days; how could an adult with a normal social circle not have one? However, looking closely at this new female teacher whose bangs obscured half her face, she did seem somewhat different from ordinary people.
To ease the atmosphere, Li Hao tried to change the subject: “So, Xiao Wu, which class are you in charge of instructing?”
“Sophomore Class 3”.
“Ugh—” Upon hearing this, Li Hao inhaled sharply, his gaze toward Wu Lang instantly filling with sympathy. “Because that class has been unsupervised for a long time, the student records are currently being managed by their class committee”.
